mechanical keyboards
A few years ago, I started having a lot of hand and arm pain from typing on my laptop keyboard. My arms would hurt, and then eventually go numb and tingly. So I started researching ergonomics and mechanical keyboards to try to fix the problem.
My first mechanical keyboard was one I got second hand: an Alpaca Hotdox with red switches. The split layout meant that I could reposition my keyboard so that I could sit up straight without hunching over, and I could tilt each half so that my arms weren't pronated (aka twisted so that the nerves can get pinched, leading to tingling).
For my next keyboard, I wanted something more compact and tactile. I commissioned a Lily58 with Halo Clear switches.
